Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give repair recommendations, and make critical power generator application repairs and adjustments. Diagnose, troubleshoot, test and repair UPS and switchgear systems and related engine failures. Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies. Conduct generator pre-start and start-ups in accordance with the manufacturer checklist. Use resistive load bank equipment for testing and repair of generators. Communicate effectively and professionally with customers on their repairs; develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships. Complete work orders and service reports with clear, concise, and detailed information. Complete all other necessary documentation as required and follow up in a timely, orderly manner. Perform required DOT inspections to ensure service truck is in proper, safe working order. Clean and take care of service truck. Create a work environment that supports safety and is considerate of the customer and department's needs. Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment. Accurately input time worked on a daily basis. Work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads, customer needs, and be available for after- hours calls as needed.
